Foundations is intentionally business-focused and planning-heavy. It exists to translate business needs into clear, executable technical work so delivery does not stall, restart, or burn time rediscovering decisions.

Optematic Foundations is the planning phase that sets the entire engagement up for success.

It exists to:

• Document systems, processes, and constraints

• Define a realistic and prioritized delivery scope

• Prevent rework during implementation

This product does not include implementation or build work. It is designed to stand alone and transition cleanly into Optematic Build.

• Technical approach, assumptions, and constraints

All outputs are designed to directly support implementation without re-discovery.

• Time-boxed: Engagement ends at the conclusion of the 2-month term

• Non-renewing: Foundations does not auto-renew

The duration is intentionally fixed to ensure decisions are made, documented, and finalized without open ended discovery.

Guardrails

To protect scope, timeline, and delivery quality, the following guardrails apply:

• Strict scope: Discovery and planning only

• Fixed duration: No extensions without a new agreement

• No build work allowed: No configuration, development, or implementation

These guardrails ensure Foundations produces actionable outputs rather than partial execution.

What Optematic Foundations Does Not Include

The following are explicitly excluded from this product:

• System configuration or development

• Integration or automation implementation

• Proofs of concept beyond planning-level validation

• Ongoing operational support

• Platform execution or runtime fees

• Open-ended exploration beyond defined scope

These services are covered under Optematic Build, Optematic Automate, Optematic Managed, and/or the Optematic Orchestration Platform, if applicable.

What You Receive

At the conclusion of Optematic Foundations, you receive:

• A complete, prioritized, build-ready backlog

• Clearly defined scope and acceptance criteria

• Documented current-state and future-state designs

• A delivery plan with milestones and dependencies

• Technical assumptions and operational intent

• A clean transition point into implementation

These outputs are designed to move directly into Optematic Build without rework.

What Happens After Foundations

After completion, you choose how to proceed:

1. Proceed to Optematic Build — Implementation begins using the approved plan

2. Pause — Retain the backlog and delivery plan for later use

3. Exit — Use the deliverables with another delivery team

No further services are assumed or required.
